Community Needs

Community Organizations Need Your Help

The following are the MOST IMPORTANT NEEDS AT THIS TIME for a number of community organizations. Baltimore Rescue Mission

  • 6 stainless steel sinks for women’s bathrooms
  • 3-4 twin mattresses
  • 15 straight backed steel dining chairs: non-folding, fabric seats
  • Skilled labor for laying ceramic tile on shower floor 20x15ft area with stalls


Christopher’s Place

  • 10-12 tables
  • 30-35 chairs
  • 10 workstations
  • 3-4 bookshelves
  • 4 filing cabinets
  • Pool table
  • Exercise equipment


Centro De La Communicacion

  • 3 panels to divide space into cubicles 6ft high x 10ft long
  • Sliding latticework gate to block basement entrance


East Baltimore Youth & Family Services

  • 6 chairs for waiting room
  • 4 swiveling office chairs
  • 2 computer desk chairs
  • 2 four-drawer filing cabinets


Alliance Incorporated Currently w/o storage space while building is being finished. Will need furniture in 4-6 weeks:

  • 10 desks
  • 10 chairs
  • 10 bookcases
  • 10-12 large cafeteria tables with chairs


Beans and Bread

  • Paper napkins
  • Aluminum foil
  • Peanut butter and jelly
  • Ice Tea
  • Toiletries
  • Large-sized men’s underwear, socks, t-shirts


Courage to Change has 14 houses w/10 people/house

  • 15-20 dressers
  • >50 beds
  • Kitchenware for 10 houses
  • House furniture


The Men’s Center

  • 5 small tables
  • 25 folding chairs
  • 5 bookcases
  • Photocopy machine


Manna House has two apartments

  • 4 twin beds
  • Living room furniture
  • Chairs, dishes, window dressings
  • Bedroom furniture


Julie Community Center

  • Small photocopier
  • Male mentors for troubled boys
  • Grant writing assistance

Riker McKenzie Human Development Center

  • State-certified social workers or counselors
  • Grant writing assistance


Franciscan Youth Center

  • 6 folding tables
  • 1 large metal storage cabinet
  • 2 locking file cabinets
  • New lighting fixtures


Earl’s Place

  • Lines – twin bed sheets, blankets, bedspreads/comforters, pillows, towels and washcloths
  • Men’s toiletries – deodorant, toothpaste, bar soap
  • Cleaning supplies – dish liquid, laundry detergent, deodorizers, scouring powder, trash bags, etc.


The Door

  • Educational children’s software (K-5)
  • 10 up-to-date computers
  • 1 Color printer
  • 1 Scanner
  • Internet access (DSL, T1, or Cable)
  • 10 comfortable computer chairs


McKim Community Center

  • Endowment funds
  • Exterior & interior renovations
  • 2 fifteen-passenger vans
  • Membership in purchasing consortium
  • Grant writing assistance
