    The Amazing Grandmothers may sound like a senior citizens aerobics team, but this group of women from the Amazing Grace Lutheran Church in East Baltimore has much more serious undertakings in mind. …80 beleaguered acres around Johns Hopkins Hospital in East Baltimore to be anchored by a state-of-the-art biotechnology research park.

Today, the neighborhoods of East Baltimore are some of the most blighted in Baltimore with a 56% vacancy rate in some sections.
