TANF

This Web site (State Policy Documentation Project) provides information for every state including entitlement policies, eligibility rules, state-by-state comparison charts, as well as program application forms. http://www.spdp.org/tanf.htm

If you wish to go directly to the State of Maryland’s TANF Program, you may go directly to the Maryland link at http://www.spdp.org/compstates/maryland.htm.

The TANF Program is administered at the federal level by the Administration on Children (ACF) and Families in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. ACF maintains a Web site with information on the TANF Program nationwide, including TANF regulations, state programs, the TANF Annual Report to Congress, and links to other information about TANF. http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/ofa.

The State of Maryland’s Family Investment Administration maintains a Web site for a number of family assistance programs in the state, including food stamps, cash assistance, burial assistance, and emergency assistance. This site also provides eligibility information for these programs as well as an explanation of the application process. http://www.dhr.state.md.us/fia/.
