WIC is administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) at the national level. The program targets low income, nutritionally at risk individuals, including pregnant women (and up to 6 months after birth), breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to their 5th birthday. USDA maintains a Web site with a great deal of information about the program, including benefits, how to participate, contacts, and frequently asked questions. http://www.fns.usda.gov/wic The State of Maryland oversees the WIC Program in the State. It provides a wide range of information on a Web site that includes how to apply for WIC, who is eligible, benefits, a WIC site maps, contacts in the state, and other links. http://mdwic.org
